not sure how i feel about the visual tie to the facebook brand, but the structural changes are really appealing.

I agree, looks like they ditched the fixed width too, pretty nice.

Agreed on a good UX execution. I think they are off on how the brand should be handled. I would also say that the ad area doesn't fit into how facebook positions itself as an ad platform, again, part of the brand. In this take, the ads seem out of place.

Beautiful stuff! It feels a lot like Fallon's Skimmer, but obviously taken much further. The interaction design is impressive and the airy UI feels great. Thanks for sharing!

you could land a plane in that dead space. and if it's filled with status updates, it's an awfully hard line length on the eyes. is it adjustable?

Reminds me a lot of Jive SBS/Clearspace. For example look at NetApp's communities which has only a slightly modified theme: http://communities.netapp.com (Note I'm not trying to imply anything, just making an observation)

check out lite.facebook.com. its their official attempt to simplify the now overly cluttered facebook ui. Could take a few pointers from this.

Thanks @pixelsguy for pointing at the lite version

Mmm...I'm feeling the status update being actually delineated from the rest of the content and like the execution of the notifications, but have some issues with the feed not being fixed width. If we didn't have fixed width roads in America, we'd drive around like third world countries do. I'd like my Facebook page to be more of a HUD, to quickly assess than get lost in shallow pools of wasted white space.
