Activities, Organizations, Press

Hi. My name is Michael. I'm the Founder and CEO of Big Spaceship - a creative consultancy in Brooklyn, NY. I'm starting to record a bunch of the professional stuff I'm involved with here...

I'm judging both the Advertising & Branding and Disruptive Design categories of the 2011 Adobe Max Awards

On June 23rd, I gave a keynote at the Institute for Private Business at John Cook School of Business in St. Louis on creating a culture of creativity. Here's the deck:

Recently I had the opportunity to speak to two classes at NYU's Stern School of Business who are working with the Big Spaceship case study.

Google invited me to join their Creative Council. The first meeting was quite interesting - and we got stainless steel Sharpies...

I was interviewed by Adam Bryant for the Corner Office column of the Sunday New York Times Business section. I talked about the importance of culture and avoiding assholes even if they have great talent.

I'm a member of Procter & Gamble's Design Advisory Board with John Maeda, Yves Behar, and Ivy Ross, among others. Needless to say, I'm honored.

The 30 Conversations on Design project is awesome. Proud to be in such fine company.

I'm a member of the Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences and the IAB Agency Advisory Board.

I was part of the AIGA Visionary Design Council and have spoken at SXSW, Click NY and London, ad:tech, CaT: Creativity and Technology and OMMA Global, among others.

I've also been Co-Chair of the International ANDY Awards for the past two years. I've also chaired juries for the One Show and D&AD and been on the jury of the Cannes Lions, Effies, ADC Interactive, Communication Arts Awards, and more.
